Today was our free day and we decided to spend it looking at the cultural centre. It was different to the ghanaian peoples markets in that it had a make shift roof. The market had been set up for tourists and so there was so many people asking us to look at the shop. They kept saying welcome friend, i am mr pressure, just looking just looking, looking is free. They were mainly selling clothing and jewlery. We ended up buying these really cool masks that I really hope we can get back through customs (the wood is polished). In the afternoon we took a little walk through accra and ended up getting a little lost. It was a nice though, it had rained in the night time so the whole day was a lot cooler and more barable.

Considering that is about all that happened today i will have a go at explaining the difference between sydney and accra. In Accra the main strip in a four lane road which is a good tar road. It can get pretty busy but most of the time the traffic really isnt that bad. The road vechicals are pretty diverse here. It ranges from the rare really nice bmw to tro tros which are like these ratty mini busses (its a form of public transport). All the cabbies here have these bright stickers on the back with little slogans its pretty cool. And the people tend to travel anyay they can, we saw this open back truck with about a gizzilion people standing on it.

Walking through the littler streets you the roads are still sealed and there are quite alot of people that have set shop fronts up on the side of the road. They are mainly selling food and phone cards. There is also the gutters which are like pretty fowl. The people tend to go to the bathroom in the larger ones. It seems perfectly socially acceptable to do just go wherever in ghana which can be a little gross. More people in ghana tend to greet you on the street which is nice. You never seem to go unnoticed especially with the younger kiddies. Mummy mummy look at the obruni.
Alot of people in ghana can speak english as well as twi, which i wasnt really expecting. Well i really should say accra.
